The space it creates: one considered thing.

Some rooms don't need more. They need one right thing in the right place.

Meru is a single cube — equal on every side, resolved, still. It doesn't ask for a collection around it. It asks for a surface and a plant and the light that comes through in the morning.

Put it somewhere and leave it there. The space will settle around it.

The name

Meru is the sacred mountain at the centre of every Indian cosmology. The axis that holds the world in place. The mountain that does not move while everything else turns around it.

We chose it because some objects work like that. They do not move. They do not change. The room shifts around them. The cube is the quietest version of that idea we could make.

Where it lives

On a writing desk, beside a lamp. On a bathroom counter with a single succulent. On a bookshelf where the eye usually rests anyway. One plant. One surface. The rest of the room takes care of itself.

What to plant

Meru is for plants that hold their shape. A single succulent. A small jade. A snake plant cutting. An aloe. Plants that need less water and reward you with form rather than fullness.

It also works empty. Some objects do not need to be filled to do their work.

Care

Place — Indirect daylight. Away from harsh direct sun and air-conditioning vents.

Water — When the topsoil is dry to the touch. Less in monsoon. The saucer catches overflow; empty it after watering.

Clean — Soft dry cloth. No solvents, no abrasives. A damp cloth lifts marks.

A care card arrives with every order.
